Design Brief: Redesign Orthotic Ankle Brace
The FAST line of bracing products was not only a redesign but a major branding opportunity. Ultimately, the FAST line of products design would inform the designs of future products, accomplishing the ultimate vision for the brand as a whole. Dynamic lines and sturdy forms were important to convey in the design, without compromising the functionality.
• Engineered over a dozen production-ready sizes and designs used for mold manufacturing.
• Measured, scanned, and gathered data on a broad spectrum of athletes, demographics and cleats to create 14 customizable sizes across 3 products to fit every customer’s unique physique.
• Worked with focus groups and clinical professionals to incorporate productive feedback.
• Used a variety of prototyping processes such as laser-cutting, 3D-printing, and heat-forming to test, iterate, and improve the design in the physical world.
