Moxi was an incredible opportunity to experiment and explore an entirely new product category that involved taking into consideration both human factors and animal factors. Our design had to stay within set engineered dimensions (roughly the size of a GoPro), yet still be lightweight, comfortable to wear, and beautiful to behold. Moxi is a delicate aesthetic balance of luxury and technology, adorned almost as a jewelry pendant as well as an advanced camera and microphone. Design process involved many meetings and discussions as we gradually narrowed down the core characteristics that would make Moxi unique in the market as well as its branding strategy & narrative, UI/UX app requirements, engineering limitations, and the companies own budget restraints and manufacturing connections.
• Development cycle from concept to design, to engineering, and finally to promotional video was 3 months.
• Moxi prototypes were 3D printed for extensive human & pet factors testing and experimentation.
• Moxi is undergoing marketing build up before launching on Kickstarter later this year.
